Kozan's former name is Sis, and the city was the capital of the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia in the 12th–14th centuries. With its walls and towers stretching along the steep ridge above the city, the castle is one of the largest in the region. From the top, the Kozan plain and its orange groves can be seen in a wide panorama.
