Saraydüzü Barracks National Struggle Museum
Merkez, Amasya
A National Struggle museum in the faithfully reconstructed Saraydüzü Barracks, Atatürk's headquarters in Amasya, where the Amasya Circular was written.
Its story
The Saraydüzü Barracks served as the headquarters of Mustafa Kemal, who came to Amasya in June 1919, and it was here that the Amasya Circular, regarded as the roadmap of the War of Independence, was drafted. The building was reconstructed according to its original plan. Inside, documents of the period, reliefs and sculptures tell of the first days of the National Struggle; there are also exhibition and meeting halls and an amphitheater.
