Oleatrium Olive and Olive Oil Museum
Kuşadası, Aydın
An olive museum explaining olive oil production techniques from antiquity to today through original equipment.
Its story
Oleatrium is a private museum south of Kuşadası, set up to tell the history of olives and olive oil. The exhibition includes pressing and grinding devices, millstones and tools from antiquity to the 20th century. Visitors can follow step by step the stages of olive oil production, which has continued in the Aegean for thousands of years. It is a fitting stop on a food route linked to Aydın's geographically indicated Memecik olive oil.
