Its story
Yeşilli Mosque was built on the site of an earlier masjid in the Eski Kuyumcular neighborhood, within Balıkesir's old bazaar quarter. Although its construction date is unknown, the inscription on it shows that it was repaired in 1786 by Külahçızade Hacı Mustafa Efendi. The rectangular, timber-roofed building has engaged columns set into the wall on either side of the mihrab and a balcony-like women's gallery above the entrance. It can be seen on the same short walk as Zağanos Paşa Mosque and the Karesi Bey Tomb.
