Its story
According to tradition, Ebu Derda passed through this region and stayed here for a while during the siege of İstanbul in the 50th year of the Hijra; the tomb is thought to be a makam (commemorative shrine) built later in his memory. That it was built by Toscuoğlu Hacı Rıfat Efendi, one of Bartın's muftis, is an undocumented tradition. The tomb, which is known to have been repaired after burning down about a hundred years ago, retains a stone sarcophagus. With a small mosque, a fountain and a well beside it, the site is still a much-visited spiritual stop.
