The tomb, next to Orhan Gazi Mosque, of Şeyh Edebali, father-in-law and spiritual guide of Osman Gazi.
Its story
Şeyh Edebali, a scholar and Sufi of the Ahi tradition, was both father-in-law and adviser to Osman Gazi. According to tradition, the counsel he gave Osman Gazi is still remembered today as the essence of an idea of the state built on justice and tolerance. Edebali, who died in 1326, was buried near the place where he lived in Bilecik. Near the tomb is also a tomb attributed to Malhun Hatun, wife of Osman Gazi. Together with Orhan Gazi Mosque and the historic Bilecik houses, it forms the city's old center.
