Temple of Apollo Smintheus (Smintheion)

A Hellenistic Ionic temple in Gülpınar dedicated to Apollo of the Mice, with an excavation house museum.
Its story
Smintheion, in the town of Gülpınar, is a sanctuary dedicated to Apollo Smintheus, the Apollo who kept field mice away. The Ionic temple, dating to the 2nd century BC, is known for its friezes depicting scenes from the Iliad; part of the temple has been re-erected through excavations. The site also has remains of a Roman bath and a sacred way. The small museum at the entrance displays finds from the excavations.
