Trojan Horse (Kordon)
Merkez, Çanakkale
The giant wooden horse used in the 2004 film Troy; the most photographed spot on the Kordon.
Its story
The large wooden horse standing on the Kordon was used on the set of the 2004 film Troy, based on the Trojan legend, and was donated to Çanakkale by the film crew. With its ears, body lines and rough wooden texture, it retains its look from the film. The model and signs beneath it briefly tell the story of Troy. In the evening it is a regular stop for people strolling along the Kordon, and a pleasant break for families with children.
