Its story
The Mar Petyun Church is the church of the Chaldean Catholic community in Sur, built in the 17th century. After the events of the early 20th century, the community dwindled greatly, to about ten families according to Wikipedia; as the church has no permanent priest, services are held from time to time by visiting clergy. A few minutes' walk from Surp Giragos, the building, with its courtyard plan and basalt stonework, is one of the structures reflecting Diyarbakır's multi-faith past. GoTürkiye notes that the church is still in use and that restoration work is ongoing; for this reason it is a good idea to find out whether it is open before visiting.
