A nature park north of Kaynaşlı surrounding a pond of about 5 hectares within beech, oak and hornbeam forest.
Its story
Korugöl Nature Park is in a wooded area within the boundaries of Düzce's Kaynaşlı district, reached from the D-100 highway via the Üçköprü village road. It is about 6 kilometers from Kaynaşlı and about 15 kilometers from central Düzce. The area was registered as a picnic area in 2004 and as a nature park on 11 July 2011; in 2021 its name was changed to Korugöl and its area increased to 30.78 hectares. The 4.87-hectare pond, created by damming a small stream coming from the northeast, lies between a natural broadleaf forest of beech, oak and hornbeam and a coniferous plantation area. It is a quiet stop for angling, picnics and short forest walks.
