Its story
The Zigana Winter Sports and Tourism Center is near the historic Zigana Pass, about 40–46 km from central Gümüşhane. According to Go Türkiye, the ski area lies at altitudes between 1,900 and 2,500 meters, and in winter an average of one meter of snow accumulates. According to news reports, the center has two runs of 800 and 600 meters, a mechanical lift line of about 1.5 km and a beginners' lift; there are also accommodation facilities nearby. Because of its closeness to Trabzon Airport, it is a center easily reached by skiers in the region; depending on snowfall, the season usually opens in December and lasts until March–April. Outside the snow season it is also a stopping point with its pass views and highland air.
