Atatürk Museum (Şişli)

The wooden house in Şişli where Atatürk stayed with his mother and sister in 1918–1919; a museum with his personal belongings.
Its story
The three-story wooden house was built at the beginning of the 20th century, and Atatürk stayed here between late 1918 and spring 1919, in the months before he landed in Samsun. It is said that the first plans for the national struggle were discussed in meetings held in this house. The house opened as a museum in 1942; it displays Atatürk's personal belongings, clothes, photographs and documents from the period. The museum, affiliated with the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality, is on Halaskargazi Caddesi.
