Güzelce Aqueduct (Güzelce Kemer)
Sultangazi, İstanbul
An aqueduct in Cebeci built by Mimar Sinan on the Kırkçeşme water supply line.
Its story
The Güzelce Aqueduct is one of the aqueducts Mimar Sinan built while renewing the Kırkçeşme water supply line in the reign of Süleyman the Magnificent. It stands in a valley close to the Alibey Dam basin and, together with the nearby Mağlova and Uzunkemer aqueducts, forms a chain that showcases Sinan's hydraulic engineering. A half-day trip can be planned by combining it with the other aqueducts in the area.
