İstanbul Museum of the History of Science and Technology in Islam

A museum in the stables building in Gülhane Park, telling the history of science and technology in the Islamic world through models and replicas.
Its story
The museum opened in 2008 with a collection of replicas based on the work of Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin in Frankfurt. It displays reconstructions of instruments and devices developed over the centuries in fields such as astronomy, clockmaking, navigation, medicine, optics, chemistry and urban planning. Astrolabes, celestial globes and maps are among the most popular sections. The building is one of the former imperial stables of Topkapı Palace.
