Maçka Democracy Park

A city park in the valley between Nişantaşı and Beşiktaş, known for its plane-lined walking paths and the Maçka–Taşkışla cable car.
Its story
The park was laid out in a former stream valley and preserved as a large green space with İstanbul's urban planning in the 1940s. Walking paths under long rows of plane and other trees connect Nişantaşı, Maçka and Dolmabahçe. The Maçka–Taşkışla cable car passing over the park offers a short ride with a view of the park from above. It is heavily used at weekends by runners, dog owners and families.
