Its story
The castle of the ancient city of Selymbria stands on a slope about 47 meters high overlooking the Marmara. Although the castle's origins go back to the Roman period, most of the surviving remains date from the 9th and 12th centuries. The site, opened as Kalepark in 2020 after restoration by the Silivri Municipality, displays about 150 stone artifacts from the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman periods found in and around Silivri. From the park you can see the Sea of Marmara and the Silivri coast.
