A monument built in memory of the martyrs of the War of Independence, keeping alive Kilizman, the old name of Güzelbahçe.
Its story
Güzelbahçe was a seaside town known as Kilizman until the early years of the Republic. The monument was built in memory of those who lost their lives in the area during the National Struggle. Close to the shore, it can be seen during a walk along the Güzelbahçe waterfront. With its fishing shelter and coastline, the district is a weekend haunt for İzmir residents.
