Ödemiş Museum
Ödemiş, İzmir
A museum displaying archaeological finds from Hypaipa and nearby excavations alongside the region's ethnographic heritage.
Its story
The museum was founded on land donated by the antique collector Mutahhar Başoğlu. Its archaeology section displays sculptures, coins and ceramics from Hypaipa and settlements in the Küçük Menderes basin. The ethnography section features local costumes, textiles and everyday objects. It is a good introduction to the region's past before a trip to Birgi.
