Karagöl appears in the Karabük Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism's list of recreation areas as an A-type recreation area of about 2.8 hectares attached to the Ovacık Forest Management Office. The shore of the lake surrounded by forest is suitable for picnics and short walks. It is a quiet nature stop that can be combined with the highland pastures and villages of Ovacık.
