Its story

Seyyid Burhâneddin was a Sufi born in Termez who spent nine years in Konya contributing to the training of Rumi (Mevlânâ Celâleddîn-i Rûmî). He spent his last years in Kayseri and died here in 1244. His grave is inside the cemetery named after him. The present square-plan tomb of cut stone with a large dome was built in 1892, on the initiative of Mehmed Nazım Paşa, mutasarrıf of Kayseri, in a manner reflecting Seljuk architecture. It is one of the most visited tombs in the city.
