Nature / Lake
Erikli Gölü (Lake Erikli)
Demirköy, Kırklareli
A quiet longoz lake north of İğneada, separated from the sea by dunes, where swans can be seen.
Its story
Erikli Gölü is in the northern part of the national park, just north of the town of İğneada. A thin strip of dunes between it and the sea separates the freshwater ecosystem from the Black Sea. In winter swans and other waterbirds come to the lake; information panels on its shore explain the longoz ecosystem. Thanks to its proximity to the beach, the sea and the lake can be seen on the same walk.
