Tahtalı Pond is in a wooded area in the Tahtalı neighborhood, about 15 kilometers from the Derince district center. Known for its natural scenery and clean air, the pond is popular with amateur anglers and campers. Derince Municipality has begun to redevelop the area through the 'Tahtalı Pond Nature Park' project. The project plans camping and caravan areas, day-use facilities, a canoe area, hobby gardens, and cycling and walking paths. Thanks to the Northern Marmara Motorway, it is easy to reach from neighboring provinces.
