Aizanoi Theater-Stadium Complex
Çavdarhisar, Kütahya
A group of buildings, rare in the ancient world, in which the theater and stadium are joined on the same axis.
Its story
In the north of Aizanoi, the theater and the stadium are placed one behind the other on a single long axis. One end of the stadium abuts the theater's stage building, thus linking the two performance areas. The seating rows and stage building fragments uncovered by excavation show the city's prosperity in the Roman period.
