Its story
The valley around the Levent neighborhood of Akçadağ was shaped by geological movements that began about 65 million years ago and extends for some 28 km. On its steep slopes are hundreds of caves, rock-carved spaces and reliefs; traces from the Neolithic period have also been identified in the valley. The steel-and-glass viewing terrace, built by the governorship's project office and opened in August 2012, extends 8.5 meters into the void from a flat rock block and offers a wide panorama of the valley. The area around the terrace is popular for hiking, rock climbing, paragliding and photography; the colors of the cliffs are especially impressive at sunset.
