The largest burial mound of Bin Tepe, belonging to the Lydian King Alyattes, 355 m in diameter and 69 m high.
Its story
This tumulus, believed to belong to the Lydian King Alyattes, father of Croesus, is the most magnificent monument of the Bin Tepe necropolis. The earth mound, about 355 meters in diameter and 69 meters high, was described with admiration even in antiquity. With its silhouette visible from everywhere on the plain, it is the most tangible sign of the Lydian kingdom's power.
