Manisa Museum
Yunusemre, Manisa
An archaeology and ethnography museum displaying finds from Sardis, Magnesia and the surrounding districts, which moved to its new building in 2025.
Its story
The museum first opened on October 29, 1937 in the madrasa of the Muradiye Complex. As the collection grew, the old building became inadequate, and in 2025 the museum moved to its new building in Yunusemre. The artifacts range from prehistory to the 20th century; finds from Sardis and the ancient cities around it form the backbone of the collection.
