Its story
The castle is on a hill about 5 kilometers southeast of central Ünye, and its history goes back about 2,500 years; it was also used as a fortification in the 11th and 12th centuries. At the entrance, about 10 meters above the ground, there is a rock tomb with a temple facade and eagle reliefs on its triangular pediment. Near the summit there are two tunnels and a cistern. It is reported that in 2025, after the municipality's arrangements, it reopened to visitors and the historic tunnel is toured with a rail system.
