Its story

Ciha Castle is about 7 km from the Pazar district, near the village of Yücehisar, on a hill about 350 m high east of the Hemşin Deresi (Hemşin Stream). It is thought to have been built in the 14th century. The inner area of the circular-plan castle is about 27 × 22 m; the walls vary between 1.2 and 1.8 m in thickness. The entrance gate in the northeast is supported by two towers, and another circular-plan tower was built in the middle of the courtyard. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism states that the castle was used for observation and communication in the valley and, together with buildings such as Zilkale, protected the medieval road. From the castle, the Hemşin Deresi valley and tea gardens can be viewed.
