Its story
Handüzü is a highland at an altitude of about 1,800 m in the Güneysu district, and the area of about 445 hectares around it was declared a nature park on 2 December 2014. Its relative closeness to central Rize has made the highland a destination that has become rapidly known in recent years. The view of the sea of fog formed by clouds rising from the valleys attracts particular interest. Within the nature park there are family bungalows and bungalows with fireplaces, a café, a masjid and children's playgrounds. The forest and highland areas, covered with snow in winter, also attract visitors for snow scenery and nature photography.
