Sakarya Museum
Adapazarı, Sakarya
A museum in central Adapazarı displaying the province's archaeological finds and ethnographic artifacts.
Its story
The Sakarya Museum occupies one of Adapazarı's historic buildings and additional buildings in its garden. The archaeology section displays finds ranging from the prehistoric period to the Roman and Byzantine eras, coins and funerary stelae. The ethnography section features the clothing, jewelry and everyday objects of communities of Caucasian, Balkan and Black Sea origin who migrated to the province in different periods. This diversity reflects Sakarya's cultural mosaic. It can easily be added to a stroll around the city center.
