Tecer Bridges
Ulaş, Sivas
Two historic stone bridges over the Tecer River, commissioned in 1885 by Halil Rıfat Paşa, Governor of Sivas.
Its story
In the Ulaş district, there are two historic bridges over the Tecer River, which rises on the slopes of Tecer Dağı. According to Kültür Envanteri records, both bridges were commissioned in 1885 by Halil Rıfat Paşa, the Governor of Sivas at the time. The first bridge is in the village of Tecer, and the second about 4.5 km east of it. Although they are popularly called 'Roman bridges', the records show Ottoman-period construction. The bridges are suitable for a short break amid the plain rural landscape of the Ulaş plain on the Sivas–Malatya route.
