Its story
The Tekirdağ Museum was founded in 1967 and opened in 1992 in its present building, the former Governor's Mansion. The building stands out for the tiles adorning its facade. Alongside archaeological artifacts ranging from the Early Bronze Age to the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman periods, there is an ethnographic section telling of the region's daily life. Stone works are displayed in the terraced garden, from which the Sea of Marmara can be seen.
