Its story
The Almus Dam was built in 1964–1966 for irrigation, flood protection and energy. The lake, about 31 km², forms many coves surrounded by forests. Trout are farmed along the shores; the lake is suitable for angling and water sports. The road to Almus runs with views of the lake.
