Its story
The cave, about 11 km from Düzköy, is at an altitude of over 1000 meters and was opened to tourism in 2003. The cave, which began to form as limestone dissolved through seeping water, is thought to have taken its present form over a process of millions of years. A stream runs through it, deepening in rainy periods and becoming shallow in summer. About 200 meters from the entrance, the cave divides into two branches, one longer than the other; in the long branch there is a small lake and a cascade, and at the end of the short branch a shaft down which water from a sinkhole flows. The branches are fitted with wooden walkways; stalactites and stalagmites can be seen here and there. There are castle remains above it.
