Its story
The Hıdırnebi Highland is in the upper part of the Metinkale Valley in Akçaabat, at an altitude of about 1600 meters. The highland has tourist facilities and can be reached from the city as a day trip. In the area behind the Hıdırnebi rocks, traditional festivities ending on 20 July are held every year; these festivities are thought to go back to old market days when shepherds coming down from the highland sold their products to the surrounding villagers. Wooden highland houses, wide meadows and the fog that often fills the valleys are attractive to photographers. In the summer months it is a favorite for walks and picnics.
