A Phrygian city in Banaz's Ahat village, mentioned by Cicero, on the Dorylaion-Philadelphia road.
Its story
Akmonia is an ancient Phrygian city in Ahat village in Banaz district. Its name appears in the works of Cicero, and it was an important stop on the road between Dorylaion (Eskişehir) and Philadelphia (Alaşehir). In the Roman period it belonged to the judicial district of Apameia. The remains are scattered among village houses and fields; some of the finds are displayed in museums.
