Its story
Seyitler Dam was built on the Seyitler Çayı for irrigation between 1960 and 1964. The earth-fill dam is 27 m high from the riverbed, with an embankment volume of 650,000 m³. At normal water level the lake holds 40 hm³ and covers about 4.9 km². The dam supplies irrigation water to an area of about 2,950 hectares. East of the city center, the lake offers a short nature break amid steppe scenery.
