Alanya, Antalya
A dripstone cave on the west shore of the castle peninsula, discovered in 1948 during quarry blasting.
Its story
The cave takes its name from the water constantly dripping from its stalactites (damlataş means 'dripstone'). It was found in 1948 during dynamite blasting to supply stone for harbor construction and was soon placed under protection. It is decorated with thousands of stalactites and stalagmites and is about 3 km from the city center. It is right at the start of Kleopatra Beach.
