Ömer Paşa Mosque and Complex
Elmalı, Antalya
The largest Ottoman mosque in the Antalya region, commissioned by Ketenci Ömer Paşa in the early 17th century.
Its story
The mosque in central Elmalı was commissioned by Ketenci Ömer Paşa in the period dated to 1602–1610. The mosque and madrasa facing each other across a shared courtyard with an ablution fountain, together with the adjoining tomb and a hammam elsewhere, form a complex. Built entirely of cut stone, the single-domed building reflects the classical Ottoman style.
