Suna-İnan Kıraç Kaleiçi Museum
Muratpaşa, Antalya
A private ethnography and art museum in a restored Orthodox church and a traditional Kaleiçi house.
Its story
The museum opened in 1996 after Suna and İnan Kıraç bought two listed historic buildings and restored them between 1993 and 1995. The two-story residential building is arranged as an ethnography section depicting 19th-century Kaleiçi life with recreations such as a henna night, a coffee ceremony and the groom's shave. The old church in the garden is used for tile and ceramic collections and temporary exhibitions.
