Its story
Karagöl is a small but deep lake about 19 kilometers south of the Kıbrıscık district center, on the Beypazarı road, at an altitude of 1,500 meters. The area, completely surrounded by forest, was declared a nature park on 11 July 2011. The park, which previously served as an A-type recreation area, was a frequent stop for visitors from Bolu and Ankara. Mullet, carp and tench, as well as the endemic Abant trout, have been recorded in the lake; angling is popular. Nature Conservation and National Parks sources state that the area has been idle for some time and that its rearrangement is planned; it is useful to ask about the status of the facilities before visiting.
