Its story
Mengen is a district known for its wooded landscape and its many highland pastures; the Şirinyazı Pond is counted among the district's main recreation spots. The pond is in a valley surrounded by forest around the village of Bürnük, east of the district center. Having a camping area on its shore makes it popular for day picnics and tent stays. Mengen is also known for its famous cooks; the Mengen Cooks and Tourism Festival is held in the district center every year.
