Keramet Hot Springs
Orhangazi, Bursa
A historic hot spring in Keramet near İznik Gölü, said to have been used since the Roman period, with 30-34 °C soda-rich thermal water.
Its story
Keramet is a neighborhood of Orhangazi near the western shore of İznik Gölü (Lake İznik), known for its hot springs. The thermal water that rises here is said to have been used for about two thousand years, from the Roman period through the Byzantine and Ottoman eras. The mineral, soda-rich water stays between 30-34 °C all year and is especially favored for skin conditions. The historic Keramet Hammam in the village was registered as a cultural property requiring protection in 2013. Through the work of Orhangazi Municipality, the hot spring among the olive groves has been rearranged while preserving its natural character.
