Its story
Küllüoba is a mound measuring 300 x 150 meters and 10 meters high, south of the village of Yenikent, about 15 km northeast of Seyitgazi. Excavations carried out since 1996 under the direction of Prof. Dr. Turan Efe have shown that the settlement was inhabited without interruption from the Late Chalcolithic Age to the end of the Early Bronze Age. In the upper town, surrounded by a mud-brick wall, buildings with a megaron plan and a complex interpreted as a palace have been found. The depas vessels unique to the region, 40–50 cm long, and a Syrian-type bottle suggest that the settlement was on the 'Great Caravan Route' between Cilicia and Troy. The site is an excavation mound.
