Tayfun Talipoğlu Typewriter Museum
Odunpazarı, Eskişehir
Türkiye's first typewriter museum, displaying typewriters belonging to famous names in the restored Şamlıoğlu Mansion.
Its story
The museum opened in May 2016 in the Şamlıoğlu Mansion in the Dede neighborhood, restored by the Odunpazarı Municipality. It bears the name of the journalist Tayfun Talipoğlu, who donated the most typewriters. Alongside typewriters from different periods and brands, the display cases contain machines used by well-known writers and journalists. A wax statue of Talipoğlu, made after his death in 2017, is also displayed in the museum. It is a small but characterful collection, ideal for a short break while walking the streets of Odunpazarı.
