Its story
Tayinat is identified as Kunulua, the capital of the kingdom of Patina/Unqi in the Iron Age. Excavations found temples, palace buildings, cuneiform tablets and monumental lion statues. A significant part of the finds has entered the collection of the Hatay Archaeology Museum. As the site is an excavation mound, visitor infrastructure is limited; together with Alalakh, it is an important stop for understanding the ancient past of the Amik Plain.
