Church of St. Stephen (Aya Stefanos)
Eğirdir, Isparta
A three-aisled Greek Orthodox church on Yeşilada from the second half of the 19th century.
Its story
The Church of St. Stephen (Aya Stefanos) was built in the second half of the 19th century for the Greek Orthodox (Rum) community living on Yeşilada. The rectangular, three-aisled building with an apse has white marble around its windows and plaster decoration inside. Neglected for many years, the church has reopened to visitors after restoration. It is the most important stop on a walk around the island.
