Its story
The kasnak oak (Quercus vulcanica) is a rare tree species that grows naturally in only a few places in Anatolia in the whole world. This area south of Eğirdir has been placed under protection because it hosts one of the best-preserved stands of the species. The old broad-leaved trees turn shades of yellow and red in autumn. The area is also known for species such as the endemic Apollo butterfly; it is a quiet route for nature photographers.
