Its story
Pisidian Antioch was founded in the Hellenistic period on the southern foothills of the Sultan Mountains and became an important colony city in the Roman period. Because St. Paul is believed to have preached here on his first missionary journey, the city is an important pilgrimage site for Christians; a large 4th-century church is also dedicated to St. Paul. The Temple of Augustus, the Tiberius Square, the theater, the bath and the aqueducts that carried water to the city are the main structures that can be visited. Most of the finds from the excavations are displayed at the Yalvaç Museum.
