Its story
Sarpıncık Lighthouse stands on the rocky shore facing the open sea at the northwestern cape of the Karaburun Peninsula. In service since January 10, 1938, its light can be seen from about 10 nautical miles away. It is an important navigational mark for ships heading into the Gulf of İzmir and passing off the peninsula. The lighthouse is reached from the Karaburun district center via Sarpıncık; the area is known for its sunsets and open-sea views.
